Sherlock Parody by the Hillywood Show

The Hillywood Show is a comedy sister duo, created by the sisters Hillary and Hannah Hindi. The looks and styles of The Hillywood Show always changes, to keep up with the pop culture and newest franchises, while keeping the comedy.

The Hillywood Show started when Hillary (Hilly) entered AOL's "Be a Red Star" contest, topping third out of nearly a hundred thousand entries. Although they lost, Hilly moved on, taking the Hillywood Show to greater heights. Now, after fifteen web-episodes and several film parodies, The Hillywood Show is turning into a phenomenon of talent and humor. Now they make big box office films into parodies and upload them on Youtube.

This time, they’re portraying popular BBC series Sherlock. Sherlock Parody scenes are played against an adaptation of the song “Thrift Shop” by Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis.

Hilly Hindi plays Sherlock Holmes, while sister Hannah Hindi portrays Dr. John Watson. Hilly and Hannah were able to capture the mannerisms that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman bring to their roles as contemporary versions of Holmes and Watson. As well as playing the main roles and doing some impressive dancing, the sisters were responsible for writing, directing, and editing Sherlock Parody.

The Hindi sisters’ Grandmother,Tina Leaskas, plays Mrs. Hudson. Their grandfather Luis upholstered furniture and valances for the set.

Chris Rankin, best known as Percy Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, takes on the role of Mycroft Holmes.

Osric Chau playing Jim Moriarty. In Sherlock’s Video Diary Chau tells us that Moriarty is more bored than malicious.
“If you really think about it, Sherlock is the evil one.”

The Sherlock Parody replicated many of the series memorable moments and scene sets. Hillywood keeping true to the series, they filmed at some of the same locations such as Hounds Tor, the Bristol South Swimming Pool, and the entrance to 221B Baker Street.
