A riddle is a question or statement intentionally phrased so as to require ingenuity in ascertaining its answer or meaning, typically presented as a game.
A Poetic Riddle is a riddle that is written in the form of a poem.
Riddles are often set out in short verse, and have been found across the world throughout history;
In Old English poetry, Norse mythology, Ancient Greek and Egypt literatures.
One of the popular examples is the Riddle of the Sphinx (a creature with the body of a lion and the head of a human being).
According to the myth, if you could answer the riddle you were free to pass, but if you failed, the monster would kill you!

Examples of Rhyming Riddle
1.
I can be found on paper or sitting in a bar
I can be found next to money that won't get you far
I share something in common with wheat and rice
Though you wouldn't want yo eat me because I don't taste nice
I can be kept in a box as well as keep time
Can you come up with an answer to go along with this rhyme?

Answer: SAND
I can be found on paper: Sand paper
Sitting in s bar: Sand bar

Money that won't get you far: Sand dollar
I share something in common with wheat and rice: Grain of sand

I can be kept in a box: Sand box
As well as keep time: Sand found in hour glass to keep time...
